Welcome to the blog

Hello 👋
Finally — my first (and hopefully not the last) blog post on this newly re-created portfolio website.
For a long time, I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind that one day I would start writing and sharing my thoughts. But somehow, I never felt a strong enough pull or energy to actually begin. Maybe I didn’t have enough ideas. Maybe I didn’t see enough meaning in it at the time.
Lately though, the thought kept coming back: it’s time to start.
And interestingly, the ideas themselves began forming more clearly in my head.
I also realized that writing about what you do — or what you’ve done — is a powerful way to re-analyze yourself. It forces reflection. It helps you see your own growth more objectively.
The Old Website
About six years ago, I had a similar wave of inspiration. I saw a blog post from someone I was following online. He had just started writing himself. I remember thinking: If he’s doing it, why shouldn’t I?
But apparently, it just wasn’t the right time.
Back then, I chose a somewhat unusual meta-framework called Gridsome. I had read somewhere that it was a solid tool for static-generated websites. At that time, Nuxt.js wasn’t as popular as it is today, and I was working much more with Vue.js than I do now with React.
A few npm install commands later — and I had a working website.
The best part? Everything was built manually. No shortcuts. No heavy abstractions.
Eventually, I commented out the /blog section, telling myself I’d come back to it someday.
I never did. 😄
This how it looked like for straight 6 years:

The New Website
About a month ago, I decided it was time to revisit this idea — properly this time.
For this version, I chose Astro. It felt fresh, lightweight, and significantly less complex for the kind of website I wanted to build.
Here, I plan to write not only general thoughts and reflections but also technical retrospectives about my side projects — some of which have become real, living products, and others that are very close to getting there.
I’ll also share ideas currently on my mind — whether that’s tech, AI, chess, or any other topics that genuinely interest me.
So, happy reading.
First of all — for myself.
But hopefully for you as well. 🚀
